Ioana Friedman works from a deeply personal, visceral relationship to craft. Moving between drawing, fashion, portraiture, and visual direction, she looks for what gives a person or garment its particular charge — character, posture, tension, mythology. In drawing, her line is instinctive and searching, drawn to the gesture, attitude, or detail that gets at a subject’s essence and gives it mythic scale.

Years spent leading creative for global beauty brands taught her how to sharpen a point of view, build a world around it, and create desire without flattening what makes it singular.
